Google today announced new features in some of its applications to plan trips to mark the end of the year and summer holidays.
Using automatic learning and statistical analysis applied to a large amount of historical flight data, Google Flights displays relevant information in the search results to help the user determine the best time to book flights.
“Now, when you search for a flight on your phone, a notice will appear to notify you if prices are lower than normal and specifically how much cheaper,” the company reported on its official blog today.
Also the new function will allow to know if the prices “will not lower more than the current one in function of our algorithms of prediction of prices”, assured the company.
Similarly, when the user searches for a hotel on google.com a new notice will appear at the top of the results when the room rates are higher than usual, as well as if the area is more crowded due to the increase in visitors for a holiday or local events.
And if the person has not yet decided where and when they travel, they can receive price alerts by email subscribing to hotel price monitoring.
The new features of Google Flights for the search of hotels are available, for now, for cell phones and then they will be enabled for computers.
Another novelty of the technological giant designed for travel is the new function of discounts in Google Trips that allows, instantly, access to offers on tickets and tours. (Télam)
